Nuts and Bolts of any Internet Business

Posted by: sherifortune on: December 25, 2009

The way that having an internet business works is that you have to
pay the fee to have internet service provider–an ISP,
then you have to pay a hosting fee for your website unless you get a free one.  The free ones are NOT advised because since I sell my books on Clickbank, they do not permit their vendors to use free hosting services.  I pay $44.95 every quarter.  Presently, my $44.95 is due December 31 so that I can have a website showing January- March.   I am with a dependable company called SiteVision.  (http://sitevision.com)  The web site that you see (http://wellmakeit.com) will still be there no matter what, but the hosting company’s servers just won’t allow it to be shown to the regular public unless the “hosting fee” is paid.

I am with Clickbank.com and Paydotcom.com because they allow other people to also sell my products.  People who sell other people’s products are called “affiliates”.   With Clickbank and Paydotcom.com, the vendor doesNOT have to pay another hosting fee. In other words, we get to use their servers for free.  We can sell as many products as we want.   For Clickbank.com, the first product is $49.95 to sell.  I already have a page showing the ebooks that someone can buy individually.  I plan to break out more.  Since I already have a “gateway page”
( http://www.wellmakeit.com/books/index.html) already set up I would never have to pay another Clickbank fee.   Otherwise, every time I wanted to sell another product on Clickbank, with a new account, I would have to pay another $29.95 per product.   I have at least 3 to 6 more ebooks I would want to put unto Clickbank and more forthcoming.   That $29.95 would really add up.
Paydotcom.com has a free membership to sell just one item.
However, it costs a onetime $29 to sell an unlimited number of items.

What do you need to be able to sell on Paydotcom.com and Clickbank?  Pitch page (or sales page) such as

http://www.wellmakeit.com/books/pitch_business_boot_camp_paypal.html

and a Thank You page which is where you thank people for buying the product and they instantly download it.

I recommend having a PayPal account.  If you want a free email address, I recommend gmail which is a product of Google.     Most internet companies use PayPal as a way of paying out commissions and for collecting money from customers.

With any internet business, your “infrastructure”, the money that has to be spent just to maintain it, is the monthly maintenance fee for the web designer.   This maintenance fee covers them adding and subtracting things to and from the website.  The next fee is for them to build extra pages.  That includes Pitch pages and Thank You pages.

Hope this helps.
